I have data in which I have two data groups and am coding instances of interactions. Each document has  several occurrences of a single code. Is there a way I can determine how many instances of each code occur in each document? Additionally, is there a way to summarize the average number of this code occurrence per document group?

Hi Connor,

Thank you for your question. Yes, you can do that.

Here’s how to do it:

1. Code Frequencies:

- Go to Analysis > Code Frequencies.

- Select the codes you want to analyze and drag them into the dialog.

- Ensure that the option for "Only for activated documents" is selected if you want to focus on specific documents.

- After clicking OK, a frequency table will appear showing how many segments (instances) of each code occur in each document.

2. Average Code Occurrences:

- To summarize the average occurrences per document group, you can use the Overview of Codes feature.

- Right-click on the code in the Code System and select Overview of Codes.

- This will provide a table that includes the number of coded segments for each document and can be aggregated by document groups.

By following these steps, you can effectively analyze the code occurrences in your documents and summarize the data as needed.

If you have further questions, feel free to ask!

Best,

Khaled
